CAMA Real Estate Appraisals Ltd started as a small single appraiser company in 2005, which provided appraisal services to a few branches of ATB in the Strathmore, Airdrie and Okotoks areas. Upon acceptance to the approved list of firms for The Royal Bank of Canada, the number of lenders using the services of the firm expanded.

Over the next few years, the firm was accepted to the approved lists for Nation Wide Appraisal Services and Fidelity National Financial services.

The addition of the appraisal management companies allowed the firm to expand with additional appraisers providing services to a wide variety of markets in the Calgary, Red Deer regions as well as the rural areas of Lacombe County, Red Deer County, Clearwater County, Mountain View County, Knee hill County, Rocky View County, Wheatland County and Foothills Municipal District.

Michael Strange, DAC

Michael’s work history started in 1969 after graduating from the Air Services Training Institute in Ottawa as a meteorological technician, spending almost 30 years providing weather services to the Canadian public, both as a weather briefer and forecaster.

Doing statistical analysis during this period provided him with the valuable experience in analyzing trends in large populations of numbers and statistical methods of developing a value opinion. Upon retirement, Michael studied at Mount Royal College to obtain a real estate license to become a realtor.

While working as an agent, he obtained valuable experience in construction as he worked with several new home builders and gained experience in acreage and rural property. After five years of selling real estate, Michael returned to school to become a real property appraiser.

He studied with the Canadian National Association of Real Estate Appraisers (CNAREA) and was designated as an appraiser in 2005. He provided appraisal services to several branches of ATB and expanded to RBC and Centract Settlement Services in 2008.

Over the past several years, Michael has concentrated on appraising rural and acreage property while still providing appraisal services in the residential real estate market.

In 2008, Michael continued his education in the field of real property appraisal service by taking a special course in report reviewing and obtaining the designation of Certified Appraisal Reviewer. He also obtained his designation of Designated Appraiser Commercial, which allows him to appraise commercial and income property.
